At Christ Church, we do not expect children to complete a great deal of homework as we acknowledge that, at this age, a full day at school is quite demanding in itself.

We expect all children to read every night and that parents support this by listening to the children and signing the reading diary. In addition, we send home spellings to be practiced and learnt in preparation for a weekly test but this varies depending on the year group.

We also want children to recall their number bonds to 10 and their times tables so we will send home work to reinforce this learning, as appropriate.

The school is conscious that children must be safe and protected at all times.

The site is locked after the children arrive in the morning, and access is then only permitted through the door entry system. Visitors to the school are then requested to wear an entry pass available only from the school office.

We constantly advise parents to be vigilant when leaving and collecting their children from the school.
